Many elements are associated with a woman’s fertility, or problems with conceiving. Uncorrected nervous system function, poor nutrition and diet, stress, lack of exercise, weight issues, poor lifestyle habits such as nicotine or alcohol, sexually transmitted diseases or physiological problems with the reproductive system are major factors when seeking to become pregnant.
Thankfully, we live in a time where an assortment of information, medically proven therapies and treatments are available, all designed to improve fertility.
Many less conventional options for fertility treatment, such as Chiropractic care or Acupuncture, have not yet been officially approved as effective, although many studies have proven their worth.
Chiropractors are specialists with the primary goal of reducing interference in the nervous system through correcting alignment of the spine. In addition, Chiropractors counsel patients on the benefits and effectiveness of nutritional, exercise and lifestyle therapies in healing the mind, body and soul. Chiropractic care can be used in alliance with other more accepted approaches to resolving infertility concerns and can greatly improve the chances of successful medical procedures, such as in vitro fertilisation (IVF). Check out Dr KG’s ‘The 1–2–0 Plan’ to help boost your optimal health prior to fertility treatments and conception.
Acupuncture treatment increases rates of success for women having IVF by almost 50%, according to research. Studies show that Acupuncture reduces stress and increases blood flow to the reproductive organs, improving the success rate of both IVF and IUI. Importantly, Acupuncture helps prevent cramping in the womb after IVF treatment, which helps prevent expulsion of the embryo and ectopic pregnancy after IVF, as well as assisting implantation of the embryo.
